Dark Future Lies Ahead....

Did US desert Afghanistan or what its exit good for Afghan's evolution?

As the US sensibly decided to pull its hands back from Afghanistan, it is still trying to hold the fort for humanity. Taliban has wrecked havoc on the lives of civilians and there is no end to their plight. India is trying to do its bit as well. It is sensible to let the nation run its course. But whether Afghanistan can sustain its government is something that has come under questioning.

As American troops have been withdrawn, it seems, Afghanistan has found it difficult to sustain itself. Taliban mercilessly has taken over the various cities, looting and plundering the women. It has been history repeating itself yet again. The so called war for religion has become a human rights nightmare, where young girls have been forced to marry the Taliban soldiers. We know it well as to why.

People are running for their lives. The scene of so many clinging to the wheels of US rescue planes was pathetic and deplorable. The presidential palace in Kabul has been taken over and this is being openly telecasted by the Talibans. The speed at which they have taken over, shows they were just waiting for the right moment. Now that the Americans are sending in troops again, the damage might have already been done. Sensitive documents are being shredded in the embassies. Everything seems to be working for Taliban as clockwork.

Two days ago, President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, and the militant group is on the brink of seizing total political power. India is keeping its promise and being a good neighbour. It has now created the category of an emergency visa for Afghans wishing to enter India.

But what is most needed is some kind of powerful intervention to push back Talibani. The time for peace talks and negotiations is over.
