 Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has selected a strange diplomat to head Iran's nuclear energy department   Why would anyone want to appoint an ex-road and urbanisation minister to head something as sensitive as the Nuclear energy management department?  Just goes on to show how small does Raisi think of the seriousness of managing something as sensitive as nuclear energy. It a rather astonishing move, he has ousts the nation’s most prominent nuclear scientist with a U.N.-sanctioned minister who has no reported experience in nuclear energy but ties to the defense ministry. There is good news on Covid-19 findings over cures ... According to the American Chemical Society, researchers have found a protein that can create a layer of immunisation against the SARS-Cov-2 virus aka the Covid-19 carrying virus. By immunising mice, they have found that  the proteins' nanoparticles can mimic SARS-CoV-2 by displaying multiple copies of the receptor binding domain (RBD) antigen. The findings on their protein-based vaccine have been published in ACS Central Science. The team has been able to make nanoparticles similar in size to SARS-CoV-2 and further decorated them with many RBDs. This formula was then injected into mice, along with separate nanoparticles containing an adjuvant, in two doses three weeks apart. For comparison, they immunised another group of mice with polymersomes that encapsulated the RBD, along with the nanoparticles containing the adjuvant. Twitter takes a stand with Conservative mis-informative tweet Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been shamed by Twitter for underplaying the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccination drives in the United States. She has been suspended for a week to tweet on the social media platform, after she indulged in false publicity. This was done after Greene’s posts were found to be worth being labelled under the Twitter ‘Covid-19 misleading information policy’ and therefore, ‘the account will be in read only mode for a week’ due to repeated violations of Twitter rules. According to Greene’s tweet, the Food and Drug Administration shouldn’t ‘formally approve the vaccines’ which have been made available through emergency authorization for mass inoculation and quick control of the Delta variant spread. After much persuasion and pressure from the White House, the former marine has been released from a Russian prison.... Paul Whelan's face looked white and expression less, as if someone had robbed it all from him. That is exactly what will happen to someone who has been deprived of social contact, light and air for a long time.  An American citizen, Whelan was put into solitary confinement in Russia. He was recently released and could finally speak to him family. The whole month he was not allowed to shower or exercise. When he spoke, he was bound to sound weary, but has not lost his mind. Speaking to the media his brother David Whelan said, till date he or his brother does not know charges for which he was put into solitary confinement. They have gone and sentenced a citizen (aka human right's activist) with imprisonment over charges of propaganda. The country does not believe in freedom of speech and does not want its citizens or anyone else to speak up in the open about anything it finds in contrast to its ideology. This time it is again an individual with a dual citizen and a woman.  This is not the first time that this has been done by Iran. In fact the country is known for intolerance and severe treatment against those that speak out freely. It was i n October 2020  that Nahid Taghavi was detained at her Tehran residence.
