In a cheap move to win diplomacy for ownership of Jerusalem as its capital, Israel has favored a few 15 nations to receive its surplus doses of the Covid-19 vaccine





Israel is also an opportunist as many other nations who have used the Covid-19 situation to further their diplomatic agendas with their neighbours. As a quick pro-quo, Israel has shipped its extra Covid-19 vaccine doses to friendly nations. As if the only way to get the jabs, was to answer a simple question, which holds the key to the magic vaccine vyles is ‘Whose capital is Jerusalem?’

While the current PM of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has not specified who are the lucky recipients, indications are these comprise all those nations that have happily given the key answer to his magic question as ‘Israel’. As a childish gesture of obedience being met, Netanyahu is using the vaccine jabs as a way to bribe his way into a favourable circle of trust that stands by Trump’s stupid worldwide assertion of how Jerusalem belongs to Israel.

Netanyahu’s diplomacy has shown up as Israel gathers criticism for ignoring the need of Palestine for vaccines. It has huge stockpiles, confirmed reports state. Sadly indeed, the life-saving drug is being used as a diplomatic tool to suit the needs of one country over the other.

While the Pfizer vaccine is said to be having better results in Israel, the latter has decided to share its Moderna lot. The Moderna vaccine is said to not have as good results as the German-American make. According to Israeli public broadcaster Kan said a total of roughly 100,000 Moderna vaccines are being shipped to some 15 allies.

Indications are that Israel has reached out to all those nations that have returned Tel Aviv a favor or more now or in the past. These include Guatemala, Honduras, Czech Republic, Mauritania, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Maldives, Greek Cyprus, San Marion and Hungary. Palestine, has only received 2000 doses from Israel to inoculate medical staff. Rest, Palestine has had to depend on supply from Russia and UAE.

Rest the country awaits some relief from the Covax plan under the United Nations ration and pool system. The shameless diplomacy seems to be sidestepped by everyone. Netanyahu again shows his diplomacy can go to any extend- even use the desperate pandemic times to suit his own needs of power.
