American Congress is now curbing Trump action against Iran as a way to discipline an unruly school boy

Democratic led House has had to curb Trump action and there has been no resistance from the Republicans this time
The Democratic led House has put the President’s action under check, like trying to rein a bad tempered school boy. Mr. Donald Trump will not be able to act at will, especially in the case of Iran.

According to a popular vote at the House, he will now need to seek approval from Congress before engaging in further military action against Iran. This was decided after a voting showed complete support for no military action escalating chances of war. The House passed the measure, 224-194, and saw almost no Republican support.

De-escalation is on everyone’s platter and no one is interested in going on war. Unlike Trump, who might not have weighted the grave loss at hand, lest Iran was to retaliate in severe military fashion, the NATO nations and rest of Europe, is supporting a situation of dialogue and de-escalation.

According to the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, this measure will “protect American lives and values” by limiting Trump’s military actions. She further added that “The administration must de-escalate and must prevent further violence,” at all costs.

With this, the house hopes that Trump would have more control and sense into his workings with Iran.  While this is not a forced law, the Congress has ensured that Trump has to withdraw U.S. forces from conflict with Iran within 30 days in case he does not get congressional approval.

The resolution passed is simply meant to curb Trump’s war power and not further fire an already tense situation in the Middle East. In the words of Nancy Pelosi, Trump’s action to slay the Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was ‘provocative’ and ‘disproportionate’.  Whether Trump is in a position to take a moral call over the war atrocities Soleimani committed, is a question that has a clear answer. In his position, he does not have the liberty for such moral judgment, and even if he did need to assassinate, an open acceptance is the biggest mistake he has made.
