Impeachment Hearings To Go Public
House of Democrats is now in their way to make two hearings
concerning Mr. Donald Trump’s impeachment inquiry. This is the first step
towards making the proceedings public and to take the common man into
confidence about the kind of person that is holding the most important seat
in the White House.
Public hearing has been agreed over pressure mounted on the House of
Democrats by the Republicans and Trump himself. The public hearings will now
heighten the investigation taking it to a new and critical phase that is all
but certain to exacerbate sharp partisan divisions over the process.
The impeachment proceedings have been able to the see the light of
the day, because of many within the Trump administration who have worked
alongside Trump, with a heavy heart and unwilling nod to his dubious self
serving methods to run the show.
It is only when witnesses have offered testimony on Trump's
communication that Democrats have had a card against the ‘man of words and
dubious deed.’
Trump is known to have tried to influence Ukraine's leader where
Trump requested him to initiate political investigations as well as a
decision to temporarily withhold congressionally approved military aid for
the Eastern European country. Trump is the fourth president in U.S. history
to face an impeachment inquiry.
The first televised hearing begins November 13, with acting U.S.
Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor and George Kent, assistant deputy Secretary
of State Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, testifying at 10 a.m.
Ousted U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will testify at 9 a.m. on
November 15.
The first hearing throws light on the fact that Taylor gave a testimony
in which he stated that he had a "clear
understanding" that Ukraine wouldn't receive its
military aid. He also added that a White House meeting between the two
leaders would materialize only if Ukraine agreed to opening political
investigations against the forerunner for Presidential 2020 elections, Joe
Biden.
While the wave of change can be felt in America, with many states
showing wins in favor of Democratic candidates, the House is going to make an
all out effort to hit it hard with the television hearings.
Previously, former special counsel Robert Mueller's public testimony
about his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and
potential obstruction of justice by Trump couldn’t sway the public opinion
enough.
However, this time, the House of Democrats are sure that revelations
of misuse of the power seat to influence and interference in the governance
of another nation, amounts to clear cut impeachment.
The forerunner for the Presidential elections could be another
businessman billionaire Michael Bloomberg. He has rich experience of holding
seat as Mayor of New York and sound business sense, acknowledged by the way
he has established a brand of his own. However, his late entry might create some
roadblocks. If not, his closest contender would be 17 strong Democrats and
merely three Republicans.
