Why MENA Is Preferring Remote Freelance Work Force?

MENA companies are looking at more agile work models now, moving away from conventional working styles. This is being seen as one of the fastest growing economies in the world that is supportive of freelance work.

Independent consultants are ruling the roost, and this is making more sense as companies in MENA look at reducing costs which has become a possibility amidst global boost in remote working styles.

So, companies are choosing integrated freelancers making use of distributed and virtual workforce. This is helping them make use of skilled talent, prevention in increased cost in training also leading to reduction in office footprint.

A talent on demand platform has generated a report which confirms this trend. The Outsized company, MD Vikram Malhotra shares, “Prior to the onset of the pandemic, enterprises were struggling to find the right talent to meet their needs and skilled talent found it difficult to find the right opportunities with blue-chip clients due to a very fragmented market.”

The Mena region is [now] witnessing the dual benefit of local talent getting access to global opportunities and regional organisations getting access to global talent. Overall, the region will benefit greatly from the growth of the global on-demand talent economy,” he further adds.

In March, a survey by financial services company Prudential found that 42 per cent of remote workers planned to look for a new job if their company did not continue to offer options to work from home in the long term.

Another survey polled 2,727 people in more than 16 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Lebanon, between June 22 and July 19 this year.

Data gathered from some popular job portals are now indicating that 63percent professionals in the UAE would prefer to be self-employed or have their own business if given the choice. The survey was carried off by jobs portal Bayt.com and market research company YouGov.

Starting a business in the emirates gives them better work-life-balance, excellent working conditions, better pay for their work and personal sense of satisfaction too. These were stated as the most reasons of choosing to go on their own rather than work for someone else.
