Eight Celebrities Who Fight For Mental Well Being


While the Judd sisters humbly accepted the Hall of Fame award on behalf of their mother, it was a teary moment to celebrate the death of a legendary singer who lost her battle with mental sickness. Naomi Judd took her own life fighting a battle to mental sickness last week, leaving fans in America sad and hurt.

Mental sickness has been there; but its acceptance and prominence has only started showing now, post the pandemic too. Here is a list of some well-known celebrities that are actively working towards making care and well being more talked about amongst those suffering with mental sickness:
  1. Billie Eilish: The peppy youth icon, she has battled with various forms of anxieties but has been open to talk about it. Her songs prove to be of great strength and courage to youth suffering from one or the other form of mental sickness.
  2. Adele: The strong voice has openly spoken about struggling with postpartum depression and how she felt ‘I had lost a part of me’. She openly talks about overcoming it, and helping parents who can relate to the reality of parenting and challenges that come along with it.
  3. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson: The iconic actor who worked hard on his physical self in 2018, admits how he suffered with depression for many years, and helped his mother overcoming it too. He openly talks about a balance between mental and physical wellbeing.
  4. Selena Gomez: She suffered with depression and anxiety for a long time. In order to protect her sanctity, she quit social media and shared how she had started to face panic attacks and stage fright at one point of time in life.
  5. Pete Davidson: The SNL cast member came out in the open about his fight with depression and how he learnt to ‘trick the brain’ and do simple things like going out in the sun and taking a walk to get rid of depressive feelings.
  6. Sophie Turner: Speaking openly about depression, she says that her blues last for many years, when getting out of bed and pulling yourself out of the house was a great battle, she fought with herself.
  7. Shawn Mendes: Dealing with being less than popular can have its own anxiety and fears. He admits having delt with it for a long time since he touched fame at the age of 15 years of age.
  8. Kate Perry: Battled a bad phase from 2017-2020 which forced her into states of depression. Her sense of gratitude for her life brought her back to life itself.
